Another sketch on my Galaxy Note 10.1. I’ve currently been obsessed with dragons for the past few days because when I initially tried to draw one I realised I had no clue where to begin. From studying Kekai Kotaki I’ve started to form my own interpretation. I tried researching lizards and after a few failed attempts I looked over at my cat passed out on the floor and decided to give my dragon feline qualities. I did this because I wanted it to be more flexible so the general posture is some what cat like. I like it anyway! I think I’ll come back and colour it at some point

Ah I’m really sorry, I didn’t even know I got this message o.o Well, it would be kinda boring if you didn’t download any apps I guess. I was like you and had an iPod Touch before. Why don’t you try some free apps? Some apps that you had on the iPod Touch are free on Android. Maybe you want to try emulators? I have a ps1 and an N64 emulator. The one for the N64 is free.

My friend introduced me to Flipboard where I’ve combined my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Google Reader together as well as use their own categories to keep up to date with things, it’s really quite good.

I guess it’s really what you make of it. My phone is pretty much a computer away from my laptop. I mainly use it for socialising and if I’m bored for some gaming and of course music. I think I should add I stopped using my iPod Touch a long time ago.

If you’d like to ask for my opinion on apps to choose from you can always contact me if you like, I don’t mind!

VFX Advantage 2012

I’ve been quite busy this week as I attended both days of the VFX Advantage 2012 this year at Ravensbourne. It was quite insightful. Admittedly due to studying animation the first day where it explained about the VFX I already had knowledge of the pipeline but it gave a new perspective. As students we are focused on the VFX companies but we never really learn about the relationship between the VFX companies and the directors who are only referred to as our clients. It was interesting to see what directors seek specifically and how the VFX supervisors help to fulfil those requirements within their budget.

I approached the next day as a complete novice to 3D. In a sense I possibly had the least amount of knowledge on the subject but it was very informative. I was somewhat sceptical about 3D, particularly in cinemas. However, the discussions highlighted the reasons why audiences are constantly underwhelmed and disappointed and it narrows down to the fact that most do not put enough thought into it. There’s a difference between native and conversion and the decision directors have to make to choose which process. Moreover, I learnt how VFX works with 3D and that with conversions a lot of it is done in post production. This can be costly since it can be somewhat time consuming.

I think it was a good opportunity to have an understanding of VFX from a different point of view and it also changed my opinion of 3D. I have hope that 3D will grow more sophisticated and that it will be utilised in a better way and help support the storytelling. Unfortunately I can not upload photos of the goodies I brought home with me but I will do later.

I am almost ashamed at how much I have neglected this blog. After all, this was my first major blog...

I am almost ashamed at how much I have neglected this blog. After all, this was my first major blog as well as my introduction to Tumblr. Thank you Tumblr for my new addiction!

I’ve been meaning to revamp my blog because well, I accidentally applied such an ugly theme and then was too lazy to change it. It might not be ugly to some, but for someone trying to show off their art work it wasn’t a good choice.

I have now added my Vimeo, my Twitter and my Facebook art page all neatly under icons on the top right corner.

I will do my best to try and update this since I now have free time!
